Octopus plated on a garlic puree with roasted potatoes and fresh herbs.
People are raving about Monnie Burke's in Pilsen (1163 W. 18th St.). The menu offers new American cuisine and inventive cocktails in an understatedly beautiful space.
Order the Octopus!
The octopus was prepared and plated in the most wonderful way. The tender pieces of octopus combined with shishito peppers, vinaigrette, and roasted potatoes were plated on a plate painted with pureed black garlic, then topped with fresh herbs. The presentation was perfection.
Craft Cocktails
Don't miss the craft cocktails at the long, green-tiled bar. Tequila lovers ought to try the Little Village Palona made with Lunazul tequila, carciofo, grapefruit, and maqui berry.
Don't Forget Dessert!
The chocolate brownie was an excellent ending to the meal. Warm chocolate sauce and Cracker Jacks topped a delicious scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a large fudge brownie.
Gorgeous Space with an Outdoor Patio
Monnie Burke's has a spacious interior, but it also boasts one of the largest outdoor patios in Chicago -- complete with twinkle lights. With a gorgeous setting, exquisite food and divine cocktails, Monnie Burke's is well worth the visit. Don't forget to follow Monnie Burke's on Instagram!
