Best Chicago Coffee Shops for Catching up with Friends

Chicago has so many coffee shops scattered throughout the city, it’s hard to even know where to go. To help you out, we’ve rounded up eight of the most trendy coffee shops to catch up with friends, known for their cozy atmospheres and delicious drinks.

Gaslight Coffee Roasters’ chic, hipster-like interior is the perfect place to get your coffee fix while chatting with a friend. Not only is their coffee roasted in house, they also have a rotating daily menu of interpreted breakfast and lunch classics — including their signature duck eggs benedict. Another major plus: they have ample seating including two-person tables, bar stools and a long picnic bench in the back.

  • Open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m

#2 Colectivo Coffee

Come here for hand-roasted coffee in a colorful atmosphere. Colectivo is a very popular spot in the summer because it has a huge patio! There is also room to grab a table inside during the colder months. Colectivo is named after the funky buses used in Latin America for public transportation. The colorful decor and art of the coffee shop carry out the same inspiration.

We kept him to ourselves the first 8 weeks of his life because we were scared of the flu. Then as soon as we felt ready to share him, Coronavirus hit! 🤦‍♀️
