SomruS: The World’s First Indian Cream Liqueur
Step aside, Bailey’s, I’m adding SomruS to my coffee this holiday season! This winter I was introduced to SomruS, the World’s First Indian Cream Liqueur, at a party in a swanky loft space on Chicago’s north side.
SomruS is gluten-free, all natural, and pairs well with tea, coffee, desserts and more. The versatile liqueur is a delectable blend of saffron, cardamom, pistachio, almond and rose. I tried it in a variety of enchanting cocktails.
At the party, a mixologist was on hand to deconstruct drinks such as the Masala Mudslide and Turmeric Dram, which were infused with aromatic spices from The Spice House. After sampling freshly blended cocktails, I experimented at the DIY tea bar where I coupled the silky smooth spirit with a variety of hot and cold teas.
A Indian couple from the Chicago Area created the liqueur after realizing there were no liqueurs available to represent the rich flavors and aromas of India. Now you can find it at Binny’s and several stores across Illinois, New Jersey, Florida and Connecticut, as well as online.
I left the party with a gift bag, including a sample of the brand new SomruS Mango Cream Liqueur.
If you like Bailey’s, I’d definitely give SomruS a try. It goes especially well with tea!
